Liverpool FC XI vs Lyon: Diaz latest injury, confirmed squad news, line-up planned, Dubai Super Cup today

Reports in Colombia suggest Luis Diaz is now facing surgery after a setback with his knee injury.
Jurgen Klopp’s side will face Lyon in a friendly on Sunday as they begin preparations for the second half of the Premier League season, the first weeks of which were marred by various fitness issues.
Diaz hasn’t played since October’s defeat at Arsenal and was aiming for a return when top-flight domestic football resumes a day after the World Cup, but Klopp has confirmed the Colombia international will play no part against Lyon.
Elsewhere, however, things are looking good for Liverpool.
Neither Mohamed Salah nor Roberto Firmino went to the World Cup, alongside Thiago Alcantara, Andy Robertson, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip.
As this is Liverpool’s first game back, rotation is expected throughout, with a number of youngsters also in contention.
Predicts Liverpool XI: Keller; Ramsay, Gomez, Matip, Robertson; Elliott, Thiago, Jones; Salah, Firmino, Carvalho.
