Lisa Ann Walter reacts to TikTok’s love for Chessy

Lisa Anne Walter assumes its role as a fashion trendsetter.

During an exclusive interview with E! News, the actress who stars in ABC’s hit comedy Abbott Elementary Schoolrevealed how she felt after learning about her character Chessy, from the 1998 comedy Jhe parent trap, had become a Gen Z fashion aesthetic on TikTok. “I think it’s adorable, it never gets old,” she shared. “When I was wearing the wardrobe at the time, I was like, ‘Really? A big shirt that covers my waist? My pants that are right up to my ankle? Okay, Nancy, I’ll wear whatever you want me to wear’ .”

Chessy, who was Nick Parker’s live-in nanny (Dennis Quaid) daughter Hallie Parker (Lindsay Lohan), regularly dressed in baggy pants, a baggy t-shirt and an oversized denim jacket.

“But it works,” says Lisa Abbott Elementary School co-star Sheryl Lee Ralph intervened. Lisa agreed, noting, “It’s comfortable and I think your generation, younger generations are so much smarter, in a way, than we are.”

She continued, “They say, ‘I’m not putting my piggies in little pointy shoes with big heels. I’m going to wear comfortable shoes, like a soft shirt and comfortable chinos.’
