Senator Lindsey Graham (R-South Carolina) has said he wants Donald Trump to run for president again, despite the man who criticized him days earlier over the 2020 election.
“I don’t think Trump is listening… He could be”, Graham told a crowd of Tories attending the second day of the Michigan Republican leadership conference in Mackinac Island, Michigan. “I hope President Trump will be a candidate again.”
Graham’s apparent endorsement surprised many, as it came just days after the former president criticized the South Carolina Republican for not supporting him more in the 2020 presidential election than Trump did. continues to claim to be fraudulent – although there is no official evidence of widespread fraud.
Trump’s Graham statement was dropped shortly after a Washington Post report revealed some details of Bob Woodward and Robert Costa’s book ‘Peril’, including claims that Graham and Senator Mike Lee (R- Utah) have personally verified Trump’s fraud allegations and have been “not convinced” oppose the results.

Graham’s relationship with Trump has certainly seen its ups and downs, which the senator joked about over the weekend.
“People ask me, ‘What happened between you and Trump? “” said the senator. “I say, ‘We have found common ground.’ I have come to love him and he loves her too.
Graham then recommended Trump “down a notch,“but said, “there is magic there,” citing Trump’s handling of the Covid-19 pandemic, the US-Mexico border and his appointment of several conservative judges to the Supreme Court as his most significant accomplishments.
Graham went out of his way to compliment a man who had criticized him just days before, solidified the views of many on social media who believe Trump is more than likely in 2024 – an idea he teased several times, but not directly addressed.

The senator’s positive words about his sometimes controversial relationship with the former president were also enough ammunition for criticism to pile on the South Carolina Republican, dubbing him “beyond the pathetic” for not taking a more anti-Trump stance.
