Corey Perry scored the game’s first goal after taking a puck in the eye during pregame warmups. He was skating before the puck dropped without a helmet and when he fired a puck towards the net, it ricocheted off the crossbar and pinned Perry above the eye.

Either way, Perry would play and start the game on the right foot.
