Lebanese government tightens containment measures

Lebanon is caught up by the Covid-19 pandemic: in one week, the number of contaminations has jumped by 70%. A worrying increase which has pushed the authorities to take very strict measures, while the health system is saturated.

In Yemen, the Houthi rebels have been identified as a “terrorist” group by the Trump administration. The outgoing American president announced, ten days before the end of his mandate, that he would put these Shiite rebels at war against his Saudi ally on his blacklist. The Houthis, furious, condemn this decision and give themselves the right to retaliate.
