Latest California gang shootings: Last name, teenage mother and baby among six killed in Goshen

(AB7)

A six-month-old baby and their 17-year-old mother were among six people shot dead Monday at a home in Visalia, Calif., authorities said.

The Tulore County Sheriff’s Office said it believes two gunmen entered an address in Harvest Road, Goshen, nine miles west of Visalia, and fired multiple shots just after 3:30 a.m. local time, Monday morning.

Spokeswoman Liz Jones said The Sacramento Bee that the child and his mother were among the dead, but could not provide details of any of the other victims.

Two people who were inside the house survived after hiding from the gunmen, Ms Jones told the outlet.

Authorities executed a search warrant for drugs at the home a week before the attack.

Authorities say family ‘targeted’ amid gang associations

“Just before 4am on 1/16/23, TCSO deputies were called to a home at 6800 Block of Harvest Road in Goshen to multiple gunshots. The reporting party believed that an active shooter was in the area due to the number of gunshots heard. “When they arrived, deputies immediately noticed two dead victims on the street. Deputies then found a third gunshot victim in the doorway of the house. As deputies searched the area, they found several victims on At this point, there are six victims in total.

“There are victims inside and outside the house. One victim was still alive when deputies arrived at the scene and was taken to hospital after deputies performed CPR on him and other victims.

“Unfortunately they were all pronounced dead, including the victim who was taken to hospital. Detectives believe there are at least two suspects and this was not an act of violence random. It appears this family has been targeted and there are gang associations involved, as well as potential drug investigations. A week ago, TCSO detectives conducted a narcotics search warrant at the victims’ home. Victims include a 17-year-old mother and her six-month-old baby.”
