Keke Palmer recently opened up about sex advice that changed her life Sister Act star Whoopi Goldberg.
On Tuesday’s episode of the “Baby, This Is Keke Palmer” podcast, the young actor spoke with sex therapist Kate Balestrieri about his complicated relationship with intimacy. Palmer recalled that Goldberg’s words of wisdom helped her achieve what she really wanted in bed — and it wasn’t “pornography” sex.
“I’ll never forget, I was on ‘The View’ once, and they were having a conversation about sex – a really good conversation. And Whoopi Goldberg said, ‘Please start pleasing yourself “, Palmer said. “And I was like, ‘That rings true.'”
The star of “No” too told Balestrieri that she used to see sex as something more centered around her partner’s experience than her own.
“My identity with sex was always based on, ‘Oh, I just have to do this service.’ And my joy… came from ‘I’m glad they’re happy,'” she said.
But according to Palmer, even back then, she knew that wasn’t the best mindset to have.
“It was, like, depressing and not enough. … So it was a journey of trying to figure out what worked for me,” she recalls.
Later in the episode, the Creator of KeyTV said she had previously based her approach to sex on what she had seen in porn.
“There was a time in my life when I thought porn simulation sex…was something that could be interesting or fun, but I never got a happy ending from it,” Palmer said.
Earlier this month, the “True Jackson, VP” alum offered similar thoughts on the subject during an appearance on the “Whoreible Decisions” podcast.
“I only got one actual happy ending from a wiser, calmer, more emotional approach,” she said at the time. Palmer noted that this was reflected in her preference for “girl on girl porn”, describing it as “pretty and beautiful.”
“It’s the delicacy of the arrangement. I don’t like all this hard stuff,” she said.
Although the Emmy winner has largely kept her relationship out of the spotlight over the years, she went Instagram official with fitness and entertainment pro Darius Jackson in 2021.
“It’s the happiest I’ve ever felt with someone,” Palmer said. Hustle of her lover in March. “Then why would I go out of my way to hide this person? It’s a lot more work than just living in my life and being in my life.
