Julia Fox goes viral for NYC apartment tour

True to New York fashion, Julia Fox’s apartment lacks a bit of space.

The “Uncut Gems” star (and upcoming model and author, according to her interviews) posted a tour of her apartment on TikTok on Wednesday. The video garnered over 8 million views on Friday afternoon.

“I never thought in a million years I would be doing this, but I believe in maximum transparency,” the 32-year-old actress said at the start of the video. “I know I’m going to get grilled, and whatever, but I’m hoping maybe someone can look at this and say, ‘Okay, maybe I’m not that bad. “”

Fox started in the living room, where she moved her bed so she could use her own bedroom as a playroom for her 2-year-old son, Valentino.

She then showed off her “tiny” bathroom and cramped kitchen. “I also have shoeboxes in the kitchen, which is very common for New Yorkers,” she said.

Finally, she showed her son’s bedroom, with a loft bed. “That room is where I put the most effort, I think,” she said. “However, he doesn’t hang around here at all. He just wants to be in mom’s room.

Fox used the down-to-earth tour as an opportunity to discuss his views on wealth and income inequality.

“I don’t like excessive displays of wealth. They make me feel bad,” she said. “Especially people who have really big houses, it really is a waste when there are so many homeless people in this country.”

In the comments, fans described how refreshing and realistic the visit to Fox’s apartment was.

“A relatable icon,” wrote comedian Hannah Berner.

But there’s at least one downside to Fox’s cozy abode: an uninvited roommate.

“We have a little mouse problem,” she said. “It’s a problem depending on how you look at it. I kind of let them tip over, I appreciate that at night while we sleep they come and clean up the crumbs that my son drops on the floor, so yeah, I’m not going to kick the mice out anytime soon.”

In the caption, she clarified that there was only “ONE mouse, and he’s cute.”
