Josh Hawley: Biden makes excuses for midterm loss

| Latest News Headlines | Today Headlines

Senator Josh Hawley, R-MO, warned President Biden on ‘Primetime’ that he was ‘playing with fire’ after he tried to delegitimize the outcome of November’s upcoming midterm elections during his press conference Wednesday.

Senator Josh Hawley: “I’m not sure I really believe that little story the vice president just told over there. If that happens, I bet world leaders have a lot of questions. They’re probably wondering who the hell is in charge of this White House, because he doesn’t appear to be the President of the United States, and he certainly doesn’t appear to be the Vice President of the United States. So who is really running the show? And after that disastrous first year? I mean, the American people want to know what’s going on, and that’s why they have so many problems in November.

“But the bottom line is this, Pete, that our democracy is strong, that the American people are strong and in control and their votes are the ones that matter. Their voices are the ones that matter. And trying to delegitimize those in advance , to try to say that whatever decision the American people made in November is illegitimate because you don’t think you’re going to like the outcome. Damn that’s playing with fire. And that’s exactly what the Democrats do. And unfortunately, they have a habit of doing it, thinking they know better than the American people. And it’s just the same song, 50th verse that we still hear from him.
