Jodie Foster directs season 4 of True Detective


Jodie Foster put on it real detective hat.

Oscar-winning actress set to star in season four of HBO’s crime anthology series, says The Hollywood Reporter.

Title True Detective: North Country, the season centers on the six men who operate the Tsalal Arctic Research Station in Ennis, Alaska. “To solve the case, Detectives Liz Danvers and Evangeline Navarro will have to confront the darkness they carry within,” according to HBO, “and dig into the haunted truths that lie buried beneath the eternal ice.”

Foster will play Danvers, while the role of Navarro has yet to be cast.

Issa Lopezwho co-wrote the series, celebrated the casting of Foster on Twitter. “It’s out. Dreams come true,” Lopez wrote. “Nightmares too. I can’t wait for you all to see what weird, cold mysteries we’re up to.”

The series marks Foster’s first recurring role on television since appearing in three episodes of Smoke from 1969 to 1972. She first appeared on the show when she was just 7 years old. Foster made her debut in a television series on RFD Mayberrya spin-off from The Andy Griffith Showin 1968. Her first episode aired the day before her sixth birthday.
