Jerry Hall filed for divorce from her billionaire husband Rupert Murdoch on Friday, citing “irreconcilable differences”, six years after the couple married.
The 66-year-old model has sought spousal support and unspecified attorneys’ fees from 91-year-old media mogul Murdoch in a California court filing.
Hall said in the motion filed in Los Angeles Superior Court that she “is unaware of the full nature and extent of all of (Murdoch’s) assets and debts, and will amend this motion when the information is verified.”
She also asked the court to end her ability to grant support to Murdoch.
Hall’s attorney, Ronald Brot, did not immediately respond to Reuters’ request for comment. Murdoch’s legal representatives could not be reached outside office hours.
Murdoch and Hall tied the knot in a low-key ceremony at Spencer House in central London in March 2016. It was Murdoch’s fourth marriage.
The New York Times reported in June that the expected divorce is unlikely to change the ownership structure of the companies in which he has stakes.
Murdoch, chairman of Fox News Channel’s parent company, Fox Corp., controls News Corp., publisher of The Wall Street Journal, through a family trust based in Reno, Nevada, which owns about 40% of the shares with voting rights of each company.
