New Emmy Award winner Jason Sudeikis has revealed a pretty nifty trick he uses to keep himself from constantly checking his phone.
And that sounds like something his character, Ted Lasso, could do.
Sudeikis told Access he carried a deck of cards in his pocket.
“Do you know how kids use fidget spinners these days?” ” he said. “That would be my version.”
He said he became addicted to his phone during the Trump presidency, when he found himself constantly checking it during his downtime on set.
It was tiring – so he needed another distraction.
“I don’t want to just look at my phone and get angry and have nothing,” he explained.
A card game helped him break this habit:
“Ted Lasso” won the Emmy for Best Comedy Series, while Sudeikis won the trophy for Best Leading Actor in a Comedy Series.
Costarists Hannah Waddingham and Brett Goldstein won the award for Acting and Supporting Actor, respectively.
