Jamie Foxx’s tribute to his late sister will make you smile through tears

The Oscar-winning actor paid tribute to his little sister By Ondra Dixon on what would have been his 39th birthday.

“I miss you,” Jamie wrote on Instagram on Sept. 6 alongside a smiling photo of him and DeOndra. “I wish you were here, I know you’re in heaven, making everyone laugh with your jokes.”

A second post included a series of memories, including Jamie kissing his sister, a photo of DeOndra and a close-up of the siblings on the go. As he captioned the photos, “My beautiful angel Deondra.”

DeOndra, who was named an ambassador for the Global Down Syndrome Foundation in 2011, died in October 2020 at the age of 36. At the time, Jamie said he was “shattered into a million pieces” by her death.

“My beloved sister-in-law Deondra has transitioned,” the 55-year-old wrote on Oct. 19. “I say transition because she will still be alive…everyone who knew my sister…knew she was a shining light.”
