I’ve fought Tyson Fury, David Haye and been knocked out by Anthony Joshua, but none of them hit harder than “The Sniper.”

Wladimir Klitschko has been around many heavy hitters, but Corrie Sanders hit him the hardest of his career.

Now retired, Klitschko is considered one of the best heavyweights of all time and in his second stint as world champion he reigned undefeated for ten years.

But in 2003, while holding the WBO world heavyweight title, he came up against South African Corrie Sanders, otherwise known as “The Sniper.”

Sanders knocked Klitschko down twice in the first round and after putting him down again twice in the first thirty seconds of the second round, the referee called off the fight.

Klitschko has since admitted that Sanders hit him harder than any of the other opponents he had faced in his 21-year professional career.

“He was really fast and he had really powerful hands,” Klitschko told The Ring.

“I’ve been boxing for 25 years and I’ve never fought anyone in the game who punched like Corrie Sanders.”

This is despite the fact that Klitschko has shared the ring with some of the biggest punchers of all time, including David Haye, who the Ukrainian beat by unanimous decision in 2011.

Towards the end of his career, Klitschko clashed with Tyson Fury and lost by unanimous decision, which was considered a huge upset at the time.

And ‘Dr Steelhammer’ took thunderous blows from Anthony Joshua during their 2017 clash and Klitschko was knocked out in the eleventh round of a thrilling contest.
