It’ll be an incredible feeling – Kaizer Chiefs tormentor Grobler aims for SuperSport United record

The experienced player explained why he is under pressure to score goals for Matsatsantsa

SuperSport United center-forward Bradley Grobler is keen to become the club’s all-time top scorer.

The murderous striker has been in good goal form this season after scoring seven goals in seven Premier Soccer League appearances (PSL).

As a result, Grobler currently has 55 goals for Matsatsantsa and only Abram Raselemane has scored more goals for the Tshwane Giants with 57.

International Bafana Bafana, who has worked with SuperSport since January 2013, is eager to break the record.

“Football these days is so difficult and when you look at things like that it’s nice to be at such a touching distance,” said Grobler. Daily sun.

“So that I can beat this record [of Raselemane’s], will be an incredible feeling. “

Nine of Grobler’s 55 goals came against his favorite opponent, Kaizer chefs in 18 matches in all competitions.

The 32-year-old has scored in each of his last three league games against the Chiefs, including the recent 2-1 win over the Soweto Giants two weeks ago.

Grobler believes that if it hadn’t been for the injuries of recent seasons, he would have broken former Bafana international Raselemane’s record long ago.

“SuperSport is a club close to my heart. The club stayed by my side when I had a few difficult years due to injuries, ”he continued.

“I think injuries have taken, to be honest, four seasons of my football career.

“It’s up to me to repay the club for the confidence he has shown in me. I think for me personally and repaying the club would be a great achievement.”

Last season proved to be Grobler’s best of his league career, hitting the back of the net 14 times in 27 appearances.

As a result, the Sandton-born player surpassed his past record, which took place in the 2010/11 season, with the Platinum Stars now gone scoring 13 goals in 24 league games.

“Having done this now, I think I have to put pressure on myself and score more goals,” he concluded.

Grobler and his SuperSport teammates will face Chippa United at Lucas Moripe Stadium on January 5.
