The Israeli statement continued: “The Chinese announcements contain no element of Israel’s right to defend itself and its citizens, a fundamental right of any sovereign country that has been attacked in an unprecedented manner and with a cruelty that has no place in human society. »

China has given little ground in response to Israel’s complaints, offering little more than a reaffirmation in favor of de-escalation and peace in the region.

“China will continue to work tirelessly to de-escalate the situation and resume peace talks,” Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin said.
