According to Downdetector, the outage began affecting users beginning at 1 p.m. ET, before more than a thousand additional users reported outages around 3 p.m. ET.

The outlet says nearly 78% of Visa users experience problems with purchases, with 18% of reported problems stemming from payments.

Meanwhile, 4% of users said they had difficulty accessing the website.

The user continued, “Not over an internet or landline connection. Some debit transactions appear to be in progress.”

Another added: “I work for Pepboys in Daytona and we had a temporary issue. But it was resolved pretty quickly.

“Our card machines are working again.”

Another user wrote: “Unable to make purchases at Lowe’s – NO ONE CAN make card purchases.”

“Can’t use credit card in Dennis and Orleans on Cape Cod,” one user replied.
