Is there a “Thursday Night Football” game tonight?

No, there is no Thursday Night Football game on Thursday January 13th. “Thursday Night Football” is over for this season and won’t return until the start of the 2022 NFL Regular Season.

The official “Thursday Night Football” program will resume operations in week 2 of the 2022 NFL season, as usual. There will be a game on Thursday night, the season opener of the NFL, in Week 1, which will likely feature the Super Bowl winner against a projected title contender. That said, this game is technically a “Sunday Night Football” show, so “TNF won’t officially return until week 2 of the 2022 season. But there will be football on Thursday from week 1.

The last “TNF” game of the season aired on December 23, when the Titans beat the 49ers 20-17 in a two-way battle. The NFL does not schedule Thursday games during the playoffs so that teams can have ample time to rest, recover and prepare for their next opponent.

That said, the NFL will host a “Monday Night Football” game for the first time during the 2022 NFL Playoffs, so fans will enjoy three days of NFL broadcast this week with games on Saturday, the Sunday and Monday.
