Prince William was stunned and surprised when he bumped into Paul Gascoigne at Pret A Manger in Bournemouth.
The Prince of Wales visited the South Coast sandwich shop as part of his five-year Homewards project to end homelessness.
And in the store, the royal got a shock when he spotted the footballing legend.
A large crowd gathered around the two men as they talked and shook hands.
Gascoigne turned and gave the prince a kiss on the cheek.
The former Spurs and Rangers star said: “I’ve met him many times and I met him at Wembley (Euro 2020 semi-final) he loves his football, I climbed a few chairs to talk to him and gave him a peck on the cheek.
“I walked past Pret and someone said William was there so I saw him and gave him another peck on the cheek.
“He’s a handsome guy…I even had a kiss.
“He said he was watching us from afar. I help the homeless here in Bournemouth, I often give them cigarettes and sandwiches.
Gascoigne was not part of the official plans and simply showed up on his own, it has been revealed.
William also visited the Vitality Stadium in Bournemouth to speak with club staff about working for disadvantaged and vulnerable adults.
