INFO EUROPE 1 – Demonstration against police violence: between 21,000 and 26,000 people expected throughout France

Associations, unions and political parties have launched a call to demonstrate this Saturday against police violence and racism, after the urban riots which affected a large part of the territory at the beginning of the summer.
Between 21,000 and 26,000 demonstrators are expected throughout France in marches on Saturday “against systemic racism, police violence and for public freedoms”, at the call of around a hundred unions, associations and political parties, such as La France insoumise . Around a hundred demonstrations are anticipated by territorial intelligence.
Risks of disturbances to public order have been identified in Angers (49), Caen (14), Toulouse (31), Grenoble (38), Bordeaux (33), Saint-Étienne (42), Le Puy-en- Velay (43), Vandoeuvre-lès-Nancy (54) and Pau (64).
