This Monday, September 13, around 6:25 p.m., the police arrested a man at Lannion station, as he got off the train from Plouaret. The General Surveillance (Suge), the SNCF railway police, had been warned by a traveler that an individual was traveling armed and with a black hood. La Suge had in turn alerted the Lannion police station, which dispatched sixteen officials to the site.
An automatic pistol replica and a balaclava
The police spotted the man. At the time of his arrest, they found in his pockets, the hood and the weapon – “a perfect replica of an automatic pistol”, according to Commander Daniel Kerdraon, the boss of the police station.
The individual was taken into police custody. According to the police commander, this thirty-something would be “a schizophrenic patient out of care”, known for outbursts of violence.
Lannion police have appealed for witnesses to find out what his behavior was during the train journey. People likely to provide answers are invited to contact the Lannion police station on 02 96 46 69 50.
