A car fell into the Nantes-Brest canal on Saturday with one person on board. The accident occurred at 6 p.m. in Châteauneuf-du-Faou (29), at the Prat Pourrig lock. According to the gendarmerie, two witnesses jumped into the water to try to help him. The driver, a 70-year-old woman, was extracted from the vehicle by divers. Despite the care provided, the person could not be revived. In all likelihood, it was following a false move by the septuagenarian, who lived in the lock house, that the tragedy occurred. The two witnesses, in hypothermia, were taken care of by the firefighters, on the spot, for an assessment.
