A TARGET expert has revealed secret tricks that will improve your shopping experience for your wallet.
One of the easiest ways to save money when shopping at Target is to plan ahead and choose the day you go to the store.

Most targets will mark certain departments on a given day for customs clearance. If you know the timing, you’ll be able to figure out when to get the best deals.
You might get better deals on clearance electronics on Mondays, for example. Or on sporting goods on a Tuesday.
According to Christy Palmer, founder of the All Things Target blog, here’s a calendar of deals that works best with Target.
- Monday: Electronics, accessories, children’s clothing, books, baby, stationery
- Tuesday: Household goods, women’s clothing, pets, market (food products)
- Wednesday: Men’s Clothing, Health & Beauty, Diapers, Lawn & Garden, Furniture
- Thursday: Household items, lingerie, shoes, toys, sporting goods, decoration & luggage
- Friday: Auto, cosmetics, hardware, jewelry
Another thing to watch out for is price adjustments. There may be a time when you buy a product you’ve wanted for ages, only to see it on sale the next day.
“Well, at Target, you can get the difference between what you paid and the new sale price refunded,” Palmer said.
If an item you purchased goes on sale within 14 days of purchase, you can bring your receipt and Target will adjust the price for you.
However, certain exclusions apply, so be sure to read Target’s policy before requesting a price adjustment.
You can also buy from Amazon to save money from Target, as it is one of the retailers on the website with a price match guarantee.
There are also some rules and restrictions, but in general, Target will match the lowest price from certain online or local retailers.
Finally, it is also best to know the customs clearance codes when the items are marked down.
“First the items will be reduced by 15% or 30%, then by 50% and finally by 70%,” Palmer said.
Clearance items should be marked red or yellow, she said.
“Check the number in the upper right corner of the price tag,” Palmer said. “If it says ’70’, it has been reduced to 70%.
Once a price closes at $0.04, it usually means it has reached its lowest markdown.
