England have undoubtedly benefited from the fine work done by those responsible for the Women’s Super League, including the biggest clubs in the WSL.
Among the biggest clubs in the league are Chelsea Women, who won their third straight title under Hayes in the 2021/22 campaign, with Millie Bright, Fran Kirby, Bethany England and Lauren James among those under Hayes’ management.
Hayes has been a key figure in raising the profile of women’s football in England, and speaking after the Lionesses’ victory at Wembley, Hayes showed exactly what victory means to everyone in the sport.
Speaking to ESPN, Hayes said: “Honestly, I can’t find my words. This whole place blew up. These amazing players, this amazing atmosphere.
“I know everyone worked so hard for a day like today and I’m so overwhelmed and proud.
“Just listen to this place, it absolutely rocks here!”
