Hunger in Afghanistan: “The Worst Humanitarian Crisis on Earth”


The United Nations World Food Program must source supplies from Afghanistan to help more than 22 million people at risk of famine, according to its executive director David Beasley.

He told the BBC on Sunday that the crisis was “as bad as you can imagine”.

Experts predict that if the weather is as bad as expected this winter, millions of people, including children, are likely to face acute hunger and widespread famine.
