Between 1,200 and 1,300 people according to the organizers – 650 according to the police – took part in a demonstration in Paris at the call of the CGT and Solidaires unions, to protest against the layoffs and the reform of unemployment insurance.

The demonstrators were mobilized for the second time at the call of Solidaires or the CGT section of the company TUI France, whose company is hit by a layoff plan that affected 600 employees. The procession left from the headquarters of the Medef and was to join Matignon but access was prohibited by prefectural decree.

Gathered in front of the headquarters of the Medef, the demonstrators were joined by a hundred yellow vests. They were between 1,200 and 1,300 according to the organizers, 650 according to the police. For an hour, speeches followed, interspersed with slogans such as “Enough, enough, of the power of the bosses!” We are the ones who work, we are the ones who decide, ”AFP noted.

Interviewed by RT France, the secretary general of the CGT spectacle, Denis Gravouil, notes that “we can clearly see that the crisis allows some to take advantage of the period to lay off with a vengeance”. “This is what we denounce by saying that we need another policy that is not exactly aid galore for companies,” he adds.
