Hugo Lloris ‘shares this moment of pain’ with Harry Kane after England miss penalty

Kane fired a late kick over the bar as England pulled out of the World Cup with a 2-1 quarter-final loss on Saturday night.
After the game, Lloris hit it off with Spurs teammate Kane.
“Of course we are happy because it’s a key moment,” said the captain of the France team. “But the man that I am is saddened because he is a teammate that I have known for a long time, a man that I respect enormously and someone who took responsibility at an important moment.
“Unfortunately for him and the England team, he did it again and luckily for the France team, because it was a turning point.
“I know he is strong and he will win, but I can only share this moment of pain with him. The English team put in a great performance and the French players deserve to be congratulated.
France face Morocco in the semi-finals after beating Portugal.
Lloris, who is aiming to become the first captain to win back-to-back World Cups, added: “We have to savor this moment in the dressing room. It’s a big moment. It’s England.
“We did a very good job. French players deserve the credit. We must prepare for the next battle.
