A man from northern Mississippi has been arrested after he allegedly attacked police with a metal rod during the January 6 riot at the United States Capitol.

Michael Leon Brock, 54, of Walls, just south of Memphis, Tennessee, was arrested Tuesday after the video appeared to capture repeatedly pushing and hitting officers with a rod estimated to be 4 feet as Trump supporters descended violently on the Capitol during the certification of Electoral College votes.

“Oh, my God, he got it! He got the cop right, ”one onlooker is heard, pointing to the man in the olive green hoodie, whom prosecutors have identified as Brock in the prosecution documents. Additional photos of the man shared by the FBI and collected by online detectives known as “Sedition Hunters” show the words “God, Guns and Trump” on the hoodie.

Brock has been charged with federal offenses including assault, resisting or obstructing certain officers and obstructing law enforcement.

More than 535 people have been arrested in nearly all 50 states as of the sixth anniversary of the July 6 attack, the FBI said. Of these people, at least 185 have been charged.

On Monday, a Florida man was sentenced to eight months in prison followed by 24 months on probation in the first felony conviction stemming from the Capitol Riot.
