The lectern of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) Has been returned, but the man who allegedly took it during the Capitol Riot last week was mock-immortalized in a portrait of the actor and political artist Jim Carrey. (See below.)
Investigators say Adam Christian Johnson, 36, of Parrish, Fla., Was the man with the skis in photos carrying the lectern in the Capitol Rotunda as he waved his hand. The charges against him include theft of government property, violent entry and disorderly conduct on the Capitol grounds.
According to Carrey’s caption, he’s “#fuckedforlife”.
The “Sonic the Hedgehog” star replaced the “45” in Johnson’s knitted Trump beanie with a skull and crossbones, but it wasn’t his most notable embellishment in the work, released Wednesday.
Look closely at Johnson’s hand holding the lectern: it has six fingers. Twitter users want to know why. Johnson appears to have five fingers on the photos going around, so was that a statement, a mistake, or is Carrey just playing with him?
