Seth Meyers’ interview with Home Secretary Deb Haaland took a fun turn on Tuesday when a photographer crawled on the floor in the background, then attempted to hide behind a desk.
“I’m sorry, secretary. I’m going to cut you off very quickly, ”said the host of“ Late Night ”to Haaland, the country’s very first Indigenous Cabinet Secretary. “You have a member of staff who has completely crawled on the mat behind you, and that’s the biggest thing I’ve ever seen.”
“Sir? Sir, we know you are behind the desk,” Meyers said, prompting the photographer to leave his hiding place.
Meyers revealed on Wednesday that the photographer who inadvertently stole the series was named Tami.
“I want to apologize,” Meyers said. “How dare I pay tribute to a man for a woman’s work, especially when his job is to be the funniest thing that has happened on our show this week.”
