A criminal complaint was filed against NFL quarterback Deshaun Watson on Friday, according to the Houston Police Department.
The police are now investigate, but provided no further details and did not immediately respond to HuffPost’s request for more information.
The two most recent lawsuits detail the massage sessions Watson had last summer. One lawsuit accuses Watson of making “obscene sex requests” to a massage therapist, and the other says he exposed himself, groped and coerced another massage therapist into oral sex.
Watson lawyer Rusty Hardin said in a statement to reporters on Friday that the complaint is a “welcome” opportunity to learn the identity of the accuser. Hardin said Watson and his legal team would “fully cooperate” with the police.
Watson has denied any wrongdoing in response to civil lawsuits for sexual misconduct. His lawyer recently responded to the costumes by posting statements from masseuses who had worked with Watson and said they had positive interactions.
Tony Buzbee, the lawyer representing the women behind the 21 civil suits, had previously said his team would not turn around information to the police. Buzbee did not immediately respond to HuffPost’s question whether this police report was related to the civil lawsuits against Watson.
