The GOP-controlled House Oversight Committee is expected to hold a public hearing on the business dealings of President Joe Biden’s family next Thursday, September 28, the first since the House launched its impeachment inquiry, officials said. sources told ABC News.

“We’re going to have three credible witnesses,” Chairman James Comer, R-Ky., told ABC News. “We want to be able to explain what exactly an impeachment inquiry is and what the purpose is.”

The other witnesses will be experts in financial law and foreign agent registration – to talk about the so-called “evidence” that Republicans believe they have gathered about the Biden family’s business dealings.

Comer also said Republicans would subpoena the bank records of Hunter Biden and James Biden — the president’s son and brother — as early as this week.

“As soon as all the i’s are dotted “If things are cleared as far as the paperwork for the impeachment inquiry, then you will see the subpoenas,” he said.

When asked why the committees had not yet subpoenaed the president’s records, Comer said it was because investigators had uncovered no evidence that he had received any of the funds examined .

“We will follow the money… whether it’s China, Romania, Ukraine, Russia, Uzbekistan, it went from there through a front company — or two or three — and then it been distributed to nine different members of the Biden family,” he said.

“At this point, he is not one of the nine members of the Biden family.”

The White House is adamant that the president did nothing wrong and that there is no evidence to suggest otherwise after an investigation into any connection between him and Hunter Biden’s business dealings.
