The United States House of Representatives has launched, for the second time, an impeachment procedure against President Donald Trump.
A few days before the end of Donald Trump’s mandate, the United States House of Representatives voted for a new impeachment procedure against Donald Trump for “incitement to insurgency”.
The threshold of 217 votes in favor of the indictment was exceeded, in a House with a Democratic majority. Ten Republicans have already voted with Democrats in favor of impeachment.
Under the Constitution, it will then be up to the Senate to try Donald Trump. It will take a two-thirds majority to find him guilty. As he will no longer be in office, the main consequence of this vote will be to make him ineligible in the future.
