The running back was hit by a low tackle from Minkah Fitzpatrick and his knee bent the wrong way.
Television coverage decided not to air replays of the incident due to its serious nature.
“I’m told the replay of Nick Chubb getting injured is not to be seen,” announcer Joe Buck said.
Chubb remained on the ground for several minutes while his teammates stood around him and prayed.

He was taken off the field and it was later confirmed that he had suffered a season-ending injury.
“Obviously, Nick has a very significant knee injury, so you feel sorry for that person,” Browns coach Kevin Stefanski said after the game.
“He’s a great football player, as we know, but he’s an even better person. So we will support him every step of the way.”
The Browns then lost 26-22 to their rivals on Monday Night Football.
