Cleveland Browns star Nick Chubb suffered a gruesome knee injury Monday night that has already ruled him out for the rest of the season.
Chubb was carried off the field looking devastated following his injury in a loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The running back was hit by a low tackle from Minkah Fitzpatrick and his knee bent the wrong way.
Television coverage decided not to air replays of the incident due to its serious nature.
“I’m told the replay of Nick Chubb getting injured is not to be seen,” announcer Joe Buck said.
Chubb remained on the ground for several minutes while his teammates stood around him and prayed.
He was taken off the field and it was later confirmed that he had suffered a season-ending injury.
“Obviously, Nick has a very significant knee injury, so you feel sorry for that person,” Browns coach Kevin Stefanski said after the game.
“He’s a great football player, as we know, but he’s an even better person. So we will support him every step of the way.”
The Browns then lost 26-22 to their rivals on Monday Night Football.
Chubb suffered a significant injury to the same knee in 2015 while a student at Georgia. He suffered a dislocation and three ligament tears.
NBA star LeBron James sent a message of support to Chubb that read, “DAMN MAN!!!! Nick Chubb. Praying for the best.”
