Highway. 5 reopens after fatal crash involving pedestrian in Eden Prairie
An 80-year-old man was fatally hit by a motorist early Monday as he crossed the freeway. 5 at Eden Prairie.
The man, whose name has not been released, was on a crosswalk but was crossing against fire when he was struck in the eastbound lanes near Eden Prairie Road just after 7am , State Patrol said.
Authorities closed the eastbound lanes for about 2 hours as they investigate the crash. The road reopened shortly after 9 a.m.
No other information was immediately released.
