ENGLAND did the nation proud when they booked themselves a place in the Women’s Euro final – and they did it in style.
The Lionesses humbled Sweden at Bramall Lane, also scoring a tournament contenders goal.
And fans are optimistic that Sarina Wiegman’s team can finish the job lifting the silverware this summer.
But have the women of England won the Euros before and when was their last final?
Has England ever won the Euros?
Similar to the Three Lions, the Lionesses have NEVER won the Euro since the start of the competition in 1984.
In fact, they failed to achieve success in the two major international tournaments – the Euros and the World Cup.
The England women have fallen twice at the group stage hurdle and collapsed in the semi-finals twice.
But that’s not all, as the Lionesses were also exposed to grief in the final.
When was the last Euro final in England?
The Lionesses’ impressive win over Sweden saw them through to their first final since 2009.
And it’s a final that fans and players will long to remember as they were annihilated 6-2 by Germany.
But in fairness to England, the Germans had won six euros in a row.
When is the Women’s Euro 2022 final?
