Rep. Madison Cawthorn (RN.C.) urged mothers to raise their sons to be monsters in an unusual discourse on social media labeled “dangerous” and sociopathic.

The extremist first-term lawmaker said the company wanted to “unmask young men” because “they don’t want people to stand up” in images shared online Monday by the activist group Right Wing Watch. It is not known where the video was shot, but it is now going viral.

“All the moms here – the ones I said are the most vicious in our movement – if you raise a young man, please raise him to be a freak,” added Cawthorn, who pushed Donald Trump’s election lies, warned “bloodshed” will be inevitable if “our elections continue to be rigged”, and have already posed for vacation photos of Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler.

Cawthorn has been charged with sexual harassment and misconduct by former classmates at a Christian college in Northern Virginia. Four women told BuzzFeed News that Cawthorn was aggressive, misogynistic or predatory towards them.

Cawthorn’s comments on the video were applauded by his audience. But he was denounced by many on Twitter.

“America is an exceptional nation precisely because we don’t breed monsters,” responded Representative Ted Lieu (D-Calif.). “Radical Republicans are dangerous.

Others accused Cawthorn of wanting to “create a culture of toxic masculinity” and suggested that he “be censored and kicked out of Congress.”
