According to a poll carried out by the Institute for New Social Responses (INSA) for the German newspaper Bild am Sonntag, the AfD would have won 16% of the votes in the legislative elections if they were held this Sunday. The survey indicated that the Left Party received 5% of the vote among respondents, while the Liberal Democratic Party received 8% of the vote. The survey was conducted among 1,202 German citizens sampled from March 13-17. The margin of error dies not exceed 3.1%. The Bundestag on Friday passed an electoral reform that will limit the number of seats in the German parliament to 630 from 736 from the next legislature, with opposition parties coming out against the changes and promising to challenge them in court. The changes are expected to come into effect with the next elections scheduled for 2025.
