Georgia woman arrested after stealing ambulance, leading deputies on high-speed chase


Georgia deputies say a woman was arrested after allegedly stealing an ambulance and leading deputies on a high-speed chase.

Andrea Bryant, 58, was arrested early Tuesday morning after allegedly stealing an ambulance and driving south along I-18 toward Macon, Georgia, according to FOX 5.

Authorities said they received a call around 1:20 a.m. from Henry County asking them to search for the stolen ambulance.

Monroe County Sheriff’s Office deputies located the highway along I-75 and attempted to stop him, but Bryant continued driving at speeds between 86 and 88 mph.

Eventually, Bryant got onto I-475 and deputies installed stop sticks, which deflated the ambulance’s tires, officials said.

She allegedly drove the ambulance for another mile before stopping, then ran away from the ambulance.

Deputies arrested Bryant a short time later.

She faces charges of fleeing/attempting to elude, speeding over the maximum limits and failure to maintain lane in Monroe County, as well as additional charges for stealing an ambulance.
