George and Amal Clooney say ariivederci at his famous Lake Como bachelor pad in northern Italy.
A source close to the ‘Batman and Robin’ star told Page Six that he put it on the market for a whopping $100 million.
Rumors of Clooney selling the Lake Como property have been circulating for some time.
Rumors of the sale date back to 2010, when he reportedly considered selling due to paparazzi attention he was attracting to the area.
Then the same rumors resurfaced in 2015, less than a year after he married lawyer Amal.
“George loves the area and the people who live there, but he’s aware of the attention he gets when he’s in town. He received a huge offer for the villa, which he is considering, and he would buy another, less accessible property in another region of Italy,” a source told us at the time.
But we’re told Clooney, who sources described as “like the mayor of the lake,” pulled the trigger this time around. Our source told us it was a ‘very low-key ad’, which we think means you won’t find it on Streeteasy!

“It’s very quiet. No advertising. No press, just wealthy customers (potential buyers),” they said.

He reportedly bought the property from the Heinz family for $10 million in 2002, meaning he’ll make a nice profit if he gets anything close to the asking price. (Not that he needs to — aside from being a huge movie star, he also made a splash when his Casamigos brand of tequila sold for a billion dollars).
Meanwhile, George and Amal still seem to be enjoying the property as long as they have the keys. They were spotted spending romantic evenings there at several restaurants in the area over the summer.
A representative for the star did not respond to us.
