Union is unapologetic about her body, aging and other Hollywood taboo topics on social media and in interviews.

In August 2022, Union shared a slow-motion video of herself modeling a string bikini in an outdoor shower on a boat.

“This girl….is 49,” she wrote at the time, while she and Wade were on their annual summer vacation, the “Wade World Tour.”

Elsewhere during the interview, Union discussed age and her new Netflix romantic comedy, “The Perfect Find,” in which she plays Jenna, 40, a fashion mogul who puts her career and life at stake for a relationship with a younger man.

“Personally, my husband is nine years younger than me and honestly, I didn’t take him seriously for a very long time,” Union said of Wade. “I was like, he’s very nice and he’s fun but – and then it went on and the more I got to know him and understand his childhood and what he went through and that he’s been on his own since he was born. ‘he is 15 years old.

“He must have become an adult much earlier than me. In many ways I’m still pretty naive and green and in many ways he’s Father Time. He has been a parent for more than half his life, starting as a teenager. I became a parent at 46 and I ask him questions.

Union and Wade welcomed a baby girl, via surrogate, on November 7, 2018, named Kaavia James Wade.

She is Union’s first child and Wade’s fourth.

They welcomed their daughter four years after getting married in August 2014 in a lavish ceremony in Miami.

“(At) 35, they (Hollywood) start treating you like you have osteoporosis,” Union said. “You start to become invisible and it’s a strange, empty feeling to feel like you’re disappearing before your very own eyes. You start to adopt the same attitude that (a) society thinks you lack worth.

“I don’t want anyone else to feel that invisibility and that sense of worthlessness, because the only people we need to validate us is us. And sometimes the more you validate yourself, the more people say, ‘Yeah, mhmm’. Yeah!’

“We need to boldly take up space and boldly claim and recognize our own beauty in everything we do, instead of waiting. Claim yourself, you fall in love with a younger guy… you love yourself more than anyone else loves you.
