A Gabby Petito memorial tour to be held in New York on Sunday will be open to the public.
The Petito family have announced that the memorial will be held at Holbrook Funeral Home in Moloney, Long Island, from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Ms Petito’s remains were found in the Bridger-Teton National Forest in Wyoming on Sunday, and an autopsy confirmed her death was homicide. The cause of death has not yet been released.
She was brought back to New York City by her stepfather Jim Schmidt, who was involved in the FBI-led search for Ms. Petito.
Mr Schmidt laid a stone cross and flowers at the exact spot where his remains were found in the Bridger-Teton National Forest in Wyoming.
Her boyfriend Brian Laundrie was named a person of interest in the case last Wednesday. He has not been seen since leaving the family home in North Port, Florida the day before, telling his family he was going to hike on the nearby Carlton Reservation.
A massive manhunt in the reserve found no trace of the missing man.
On Thursday, he was charged with bank fraud for using an ATM card in the days following Ms Petito’s disappearance.
The FBI issued an arrest warrant for him.
Ms. Petito, 22, grew up in Suffolk County, Long Island, and attended Bayport-Blue Point High School.
