Florida Police have new information on the disappearance of popular YouTuber Gabby Petito. The North Port Police Department announced on Wednesday that it considered Ms Petito’s fiancé a person of interest in their investigation.
Ms Petito disappeared on a road trip with her fiancé, Brian Laundrie, who returned without her, prompting a frantic search for the 22-year-old woman who began on September 11.
Mr Laundrie, who lived with Ms Petito in North Port, Florida, has so far refused to cooperate with authorities. North Port Police will hold a press conference today at 11:30 a.m. EST to discuss the latest developments in their search for Ms. Petito.
Nicole Schmidt, Ms Petito’s mother, said the last time she spoke with her daughter was August 30, but because it was a text, she can’t be sure she was actually talking with the woman. Before that, the mother and daughter video discussed on August 23 or 24.
Ms Schmidt said it was normal for her and her daughter to video chat several times a week. When her daughter did not show up after Mr. Laundrie returned from their road trip, she became worried and the family eventually alerted the police.
