“Operation dead city” in Rennes
In Rennes, marked by violent demonstrations at the end of last week, a “dead city operation” is announced, this Monday, March 20, at the call of various groups of students and radical activists. Blockages of roads are envisaged in order to “block the economy”, they write on social networks.
Other actions are also planned by the unions during the day. From 6 a.m., several blocking points and filter barriers could be set up on the Rennes ring road and its surroundings, which should cause significant traffic difficulties. Simultaneous operations of the same kind had already been carried out on Thursday March 16 in the Breton capital, causing up to 45 kilometers of traffic jams in the morning.
As for the waste collection sites, and while garbage has not been collected for a week in the Rennes metropolis, the blocking of the sites of the service provider Suez should resume this Monday morning.
The written specialty tests for the general and technological baccalaureates which start on Monday could also be disrupted.
Roundabout blockage and filter dam in Brest
Brest is the other city where the mobilization against the pension reform should continue to be heard on Monday. The inter-union of the country of Brest calls to participate and support the blocking of the Spernot roundabout (incineration plant), from 6 a.m., in support of the purge service of Brest metropolis. The teachers of the Jean-Marie Le Bris high school in Douarnenez will strike to monitor the baccalaureate specialty tests on Monday and Tuesday. A rally is scheduled for 1 p.m. in front of the school.
The only action announced, this Monday, in Morlaix: a tow at the call of the FSU education in front of the Tristan Corbière high school, at noon.
The Morbihan inter-union is organizing a rally at 6 p.m. in front of the Lorient sub-prefecture, as well as a demonstration in front of that of Pontivy, also at 6 p.m.
A new citizen rally is also announced this Monday at 6 p.m. on the Esplanade de la Résistance, in Dinan.
