Fox News promises not to crash during DeSantis interview

“We had a massive following, it was – it was the biggest [they] never had. It broke the Twitter space, so we’re really excited about the excitement,” DeSantis replied.
The Florida governor has also been pushing for online donations for his campaign.
“If you donate, we might be able to break this part of the internet as well,” DeSantis added.
The interview, DeSantis’ first after officially entering the race, featured some of the Florida governor’s favorite talking points. He opened up about his legal battle with Disney, though he declined to provide details on how he plans to end that fight. As president, DeSantis said he would “lean against woke ideology and against the sexualization of children”, and promised that he would ensure that “woke ideology ends up in the garbage cans of the history”.
After Gowdy’s interview, Fox News host Sean Hannity acknowledged that the event was a bit of a mess.
“[DeSantis’] live announcement on Twitter with Elon Musk – it didn’t go well after Twitter had one technical issue after another, but Ron DeSantis is hugely popular,” Hannity said. “He is an accomplished governor of the Free State of Florida. He was re-elected by a million and a half votes, which was a record, with majorities in both red and blue counties. And as of now, DeSantis has a lot of catching up to do if he wants to challenge former President Donald Trump for the nomination.
Despite technological difficulties that delayed DeSantis’ highly anticipated campaign launch, the GOP nominee’s campaign expressed optimism when receiving the event.
“There was so much enthusiasm for Governor DeSantis’ vision for our great American comeback that he literally destroyed the internet. Washington is next,” DeSantis publicist Bryan Griffin wrote on Twitterclaiming the campaign had made $1 million less than an hour after the announcement.
