Fox News host Trey Gowdy blasts Republicans for not respecting results of yet another vote

Fox News host Trey Gowdy lambasted fellow Republicans on Sunday for another version of election denial. (Watch the video below.)
And this one only involves the GOP.
After Rep. Kevin McCarthy won the GOP nomination for House Speaker last month in a landslide vote, some far-right members of the House pushed back against the current House Minority Leader. Representative Andy Biggs (Arizona) also shows up as a speaker even though he has no chance of winning. Resistance could hijack the votes, ruining McCarthy’s chances of securing the presidential spot in the Jan. 3 ground election.
Gowdy, a former GOP congressman from South Carolina, had had enough.
“Rather than coalesce around a legislative or investigative agenda, House Republicans are battling among themselves over who will be the speaker,” he said. “Yes, your memory is good. The primary for speaker was a month ago. Kevin McCarthy won with 85% of the vote. But a small but vocal group of House Republicans will not back the primary winner.
“So much for elections having consequences or respecting the will of the people or any platitudes spoken, but only when it is appropriate,” Gowdy continued. “This small group of Republican suicide bombers are convinced that Donald Trump won the presidency in 2020 with 47% of the vote, but somehow Kevin McCarthy lost the race for speaker with 85% of the vote. .”
Gowdy punctuated his protest with a punchline.
“Maths have never been their forte.”
