Trump objects to verification of list of property seized from Florida estate – court filing

Lawyers for former President Donald Trump are resisting a federal judge’s instruction to submit an affidavit on whether they believe the list of government assets taken from Trump’s Florida estate is accurate. According to a letter filed publicly by Trump’s lawyers on Wednesday, the former president’s legal team told Senior U.S. Judge Raymond Dearie, who is reviewing documents taken during the federal raid on the Florida property, that they do not believe not that Dearie had the power to compel them to make such a deposit. The letter from Trump’s lawyers, dated Sept. 25, says another federal judge’s order appointing Dearie to conduct the outside document review only requires the government to file a statement about the accuracy of the list of inventory, not Trump.
