There are different ways for Americans to be rewarded with extra money – but sadly, some don’t.
Multiple surveys and studies show that the vast majority of Americans live from paycheck to paycheck.
So getting some form of stimulus payment could go a long way, whether it’s helping with a tough month or the future.
While a fourth federal stimulus check seems unlikely, there are plenty of opportunities you can take advantage of that will earn you extra cash.
We explain them below.
Child tax credits
Since July, child tax credit payments have been made in monthly installments of up to $ 300 per child.
These payments are given to parents with children up to the age of 17.
To qualify for full payments, couples must earn less than $ 150,000 and single parents who claim to be heads of household must earn less than $ 112,500.
After just the first month, out-of-pocket payments helped lift 3 million children out of poverty, according to a study from Columbia University.
But unfortunately not everyone benefits from it.
A study by the University of Michigan shows that one in 10 qualifying families did not receive their child tax credit payments.
As a result, eligible individuals who have not received the payments will now have to wait until next year.
If you are eligible for the benefit, you can claim up to $ 3,600 per child on your income tax return.
Just by making weekly purchases, you can be rewarded.
And depending on how often you use Cash Back Rewards, it’s fair to say you can earn hundreds of dollars every year.
For example, leading cashback site Ibotta claims that its average user earns $ 150 each year through their online purchases and errands.
And TopCashback claims it gives its average member $ 345 in cash back.
You would be surprised how much you can earn just by signing up for something.
One example is banks offering hundreds of dollars simply by opening an account with the branch.
But be aware that some banks may require a minimum deposit.
Plus, you may be able to cash out now if you are looking for a job.
Since there is a massive labor shortage, some companies are paying thousands in hiring bonuses in an attempt to attract workers.
For example, teachers can get up to $ 10,000 in login bonuses.
Some cash back websites will also offer you bonuses just for signing up.
Make sure to check the signup bonuses for anything that might interest you.
While you can’t use the money in a 401k account immediately (at least without a penalty), it will benefit you later in life.
A 401k is an employer-sponsored program that aims to help Americans retire with enough money once they have stopped working.
The biggest benefit of a 401k is the employer’s match – some offering up to 5% of each paycheck.
Essentially, your employer is giving you money for free.
For example, suppose your employer matches up to 5% of your weekly salary, or $ 500.
Your employer will contribute $ 25 per week or $ 100 per month to your 401k account.
Plus, that means you’ll put $ 100 each month into your account to equal $ 200 in total monthly savings.
This translates to a total of $ 2,400 per year, half of which comes from your employer.
Using a 401k in your employment history could help you retire with a $ 1.9 million savings pot.
However, a survey released by personal finance site MagnifyMoney shows that 17% of workers with access to employer-sponsored pension plans do not contribute.

We also explain how families with children under 13 could get a surprise stimulus payment of $ 8,000.
What’s more, millions of Americans could benefit from another round of stimulus checks next year.
