Despite a good match, the Guingampais lost to Sochaux, nailed by a surprise goal early in the second half and a severe penalty fifteen minutes from the end. A terrible disappointment for Stéphane Dumont’s men.

Sivis, premiere

Let’s start with a big smile, that of Maxime Sivis. His goal, synonymous with the opening of the score for Guingamp, is a nice moment of emotion since the 23-year-old Choletais, passed through Concarneau, played his very first Ligue 2 match there. First summer recruit, the right-back had to heal a problem in the psoas before experiencing this baptism of fire. After an exchange with Livolant, M’Changama gave him a tight cross which he took back as a first step, under the helm of Maxence Prévot (45 ‘+ 2). We let you guess his joy. Unfortunately, it will be short-lived.

Sochaux rebels

Last season no goal was scored in the two confrontations between Guingamp and Sochaux. This time, there were therefore three, including two for Sochaux! The Franche-Comté equalizer first came from the young Franco-Senegalese Rassoul Niaye (20 years old). Hidden behind Camara’s back, he headed back Ambri’s cross (48 ‘) and caused astonishment in Roudourou. A disappointment still strengthened when the referee whistled a severe penalty to Hady Camara, for having touched the arm (or rather the hollow of the shoulder) the center of Kalulu, by tackling the ball. A penalty converted by Ambri (1-2, 78 ‘).

Guingamp crying

The defeat is severe for En Avant. Back in their game, the Costarmoricans should have opened the scoring from the start. Phaeton’s magnificent volley (the gesture of the evening) finally crashed into the crossbar (21 ‘). The Guingampais had just gone to 4-4-2 with the entries of Gomis and Cathline (74 ‘) when Sochaux took the advantage. Merghem and Carnot then joined them. In vain for this EAG which has therefore still not won at home this season, even tarnishing its record (2 draws, 2 defeats). But who deserved better and who was beaten by a more experienced Sochaux team who often chopped the game to keep control of events.
