Former national security adviser warns of China’s ‘aggressive’ bid for its world order

Former deputy national security adviser KT McFarland joined “Fox & Friends Weekend” on Saturday morning and discussed the growing Chinese threat and their “aggressive” geopolitical tactics. McFarland warned co-host Will Cain that America is “asleep at the wheel” as China establishes its new “world order”.

McFarland pointed to China’s recent geopolitical moves to consolidate its influence on the world stage.

“If you look at the past 10 days, what has China done? They are moving forward very aggressively and successfully to establish the new Chinese world order,” she noted.

McFarland first touched on China’s recent move in Middle East affairs to facilitate a deal with Iran and Saudi Arabia, benefiting from the deal while disrupting US influence in the region.

“So a week ago they brokered a deal between two historical enemies, Iran and Saudi Arabia. We weren’t negotiating that deal. China wasn’t. We were surprised that China So all of a sudden, after 50 years of American domination in the Middle East, China is now the most important country in the Middle East because it is going to build infrastructure. [5G] infrastructure, artificial intelligence infrastructure of these great countries in the Middle East, and by the way, China then gets a lifetime supply of energy, especially oil. »

She turned to China’s partnership with Russia and referred to the call for peace talks between Russia and Ukraine. McFarland also suggested the Chinese will advance their own agenda in the talks.

“Xi Jinping is going to Russia. He has a lot of influence and a lot of ability to put pressure on the president of Russia, maybe bring him to the negotiating table and at the same time, Xi Jinping is meeting in a way or another Ukrainian leader, either video conference or I don’t think, in person, but what is he going to do there? Is he going to say, listen, here’s my peace plan? Xi Jinping has already presented his own peace plan.

Finally, McFarland concluded on China’s global aspirations with its growing influence in Central and South America, and the challenge to American leadership on the world stage.

“President Xi Jinping said, I declare a goal of global citizenship, but this directly attacks the United States, talks to the global south like South America, Latin America. And he says, look at us. The China is the way forward and China is going to lead the new global world order, not the United States.”

She added and stressed that the United States must act quickly.

“We’ve been sleeping behind the wheel arguing over what pronouns to put in the Army training manual, and we’re not spending research and development money the way we should.” She continued, “The Chinese are already everywhere in Latin America. They are already in Africa. We are now at the eleventh hour. If we want to maintain American leadership in the world, we better pull ourselves together real quick.”
